After the release of ‘Big Kid’ Sister Lucy is here with her follow up single ‘Best At Being Sad’.
The latest heavy hitter from Sister Lucy is the 3rd single from her upcoming EP Big Girl Pants set for release on November 17th.
“The Best At Being Sad single is my internal monologue with unhappiness – The lyrics are self-mocking, cruel and impatient, I wanted to create a personification of sadness.” ‘You’re the best at being broken, you’re the best at being sad’. We feel the emotional weight of the words, they suffocate and consume. ‘I tried to shake you off, but you stuck like rain’
Sticking to the country / grunge aesthetic that Sister Lucy does so well, ‘Best At Being Sad’ really solidifies her place as an established artist.
The emotion that comes through in the vocals and lyrically especially in the bridge of the song when Sister Lucy sings ‘You’re the best at being sad’ over a captivating guitar solo.
Accompanying the release will be an animated hand drawn music video by Sona Koloyan, which depicts Sister Lucy in her own personal hell.
Sister Lucy has just supported Coach Party at Omeara, played at Sŵn Festival and next headlining a show on November 10th at the Shacklewell Arms.
